Johanna’s Visions & Voices article, “Pacific Island Country Submissions to the International Court of Justice Climate Change Advisory Opinion Make History,” highlights that the Pacific region, in unprecedented numbers, submitted to the International Court of Justice advisory opinion proceedings on climate change. Johanna explains that the inclusion of Pacific visions and voices to the world’s court will help ensure climate justice arguments are not overridden by those that wish to maintain the status quo.
Lei’s Visions & Voices article, “The Pacific Islands and Japan: Promoting the Rule of Law and Justice in a Free and Open Indo-Pacific,” explains that Japan can pave the way for mutually beneficial cooperation through working with Pacific Island countries to enforce the rule of law in the maritime domain and promote environmental and nuclear justice.
Busa’s Visions & Voices article, “Government Engagement: The Next Chapter in PNG’s Financial Inclusion Story,” explains that in Papua New Guinea, financial inclusion is fast becoming an important development challenge as the economy transforms itself from a largely agrarian subsistence based economy to a more monetized modern economy.
Aryan’s Visions & Voices article, “India’s Independent Pivot to the Pacific Reimagines Old Ties,” contemplates India’s historical and contemporary position in the Indo-Pacific region, especially with the Pacific Islands.
